Thank you for your interest in Harwelden!

Harwelden was originally the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Palmer Harwell. Built in 1926 in the collegiate gothic, or English Tudor style, it is today a Tulsa landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.

Harwelden is the place of choice in Tulsa for public and private events throughout the year. Hundreds of people have made it the location for their weddings, dances, seminars, dinners, meetings, parties and concerts over the years. The building's beautiful design and comfortable setting make it a unique place for any event, from business meetings to formal balls. Harwelden has been voted "Best Place to Book a Party" in Tulsa People's Readers' Choice Awards.

We also offer a wonderful group tour of the mansion. Harwelden Docents, decked out in their own 1920’s styles, will lead your group through the historic mansion, from the gargoyles nesting in the chimneys to the former laundry in the basement—complete with stories of the Harwell family.

We hope that the following information is helpful to you in planning your upcoming event at Harwelden.

Uses and Accommodations

Harwelden will accommodate approximately 50 people for a "sit-down" meal in one common room. However, if you don't mind having your guests scattered into other areas of the house, you are welcome to seat more...
Available for your use are six round tables (60 inches in diameter, each one seats 8-9) and approximately 80 stacking chairs at no charge.
Linens or dishes are not supplied; those can usually be taken care of by your caterer or by a party rental store.
The main room can seat approximately 70 people for a program (such as a concert, wedding, or seminar) with chairs placed in rows and with space for a lectern or altar area...
Seating may be increased to approximately 90 by arranging the chairs facing the north wall of the living room, which allows the sunroom, sun porch, and entryway to serve as overflow seating.
A lectern is available for your use if needed.
The parking lot has space for 25 cars, and approximately 30-35 more can be parked on the streets surrounding the building. DO NOT park in the adjacent private lots, and make sure you notify your guests of these arrangements.
Harwelden is a wheelchair friendly mansion.
